1. Introduction

Welcome to TigerSwap, a marketplace exclusively for Princeton students, designed to facilitate buying, selling, and auctioning of products within the university community. By accessing or using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use TigerSwap.

2. Eligibility

TigerSwap is only available to current Princeton University students with a valid .edu email address. Verification of your Princeton email is required to create an account. Misrepresentation or unauthorized access will result in immediate account termination.

3. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration and while using TigerSwap.
• Unauthorized use of another user’s account is prohibited.

4. Marketplace Features

4.1 Sales

Seller Responsibilities:

• Post accurate product details, including descriptions and photos.
• Arrange to meet buyers in person to complete the transaction.

Buyer Responsibilities:

• Contact sellers via the in-app messaging feature.
• Complete transactions with sellers in person.

4.2 Auctions

Seller Responsibilities:

• Post products for auction with accurate details and specify auction duration.
• Notify the winning buyer and arrange a meetup to complete the transaction.

Buyer Responsibilities:

• Place bids anonymously and abide by the auction rules.
• Upon winning, contact the seller to finalize the deal in person.

4.3 In-App Messaging

All communication regarding sales and auctions must be conducted through TigerSwap’s messaging feature. Off-platform communication is strongly discouraged for safety and security.

4.4 Filters

TigerSwap allows you to filter products by location and category, helping you find the items that best meet your needs.

5. Notifications

• Sales Notifications: You will be notified when your item is sold.
• Auction Notifications: Outbid notifications will inform you if someone places a higher bid. You will be notified when an auction closes or if you’ve won a product.
• Data Rates: TigerSwap is not responsible for any data rates or charges incurred due to notifications. Please check with your service provider for details.

6. User Conduct

Users must behave respectfully and responsibly while interacting on TigerSwap. Prohibited activities include but are not limited to:

• Posting illegal, fraudulent, or harmful items.
• Engaging in harassment, spamming, or inappropriate messaging.
• Misrepresenting products or services.

7. Transactions

TigerSwap is not responsible for the outcome of transactions or any disputes between buyers and sellers. Both parties are encouraged to exercise caution and discretion when completing deals.

TigerSwap does not handle payments. Transactions are to be completed in person.

8. Consent to Share Information

By using TigerSwap, you consent to having your name and student email shared with other members of the campus when someone purchases your product, solely for the purpose of coordinating pickup.

9. Intellectual Property

All content posted by users must respect intellectual property laws. Users are solely responsible for the content they share.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

TigerSwap is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TigerSwap and its creators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the app, including any issues arising from in-person transactions.

12. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of TigerSwap constitutes acceptance of any changes.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your account at our sole discretion if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in prohibited activities.
